Duskcone on Meta Quest
Install Duskcone.
Choose how to install Duskcone: connect your Quest over USB, or download the APK in your headset.
Your files stay with you.
Choose how to install
Connect over USB. Requires developer mode and desktop Chrome or Edge. The launcher installs Duskcone and transfers your game, textures, and saves to Quest.
Download on Quest. Install the APK in Quest’s browser without developer mode or a USB connection. You must copy your game files to the headset and finish setup inside Duskcone yourself.
Prepare your Quest for USB
Before you connect
- Enable developer mode. Follow Meta’s device setup guide to set up a developer account and enable developer mode, then restart your Quest.
- Connect a USB data cable. Plug your headset into your computer and open this page in desktop Chrome or Edge.
- Allow USB debugging. When you connect below, put on Quest and approve the debugging prompt. Only trust computers you control.
Download on Quest
Connect your headset
Connect explicitly to choose your Quest. This browser will store a local ADB key so your headset can recognize it next time.

- USB storage

If another ADB client has the USB interface, close SideQuest or Meta Quest Developer Hub. Developers can run adb kill-server, then reconnect here.
Install or update
Checking release information…
Updates preserve the data folder. Signature conflicts and downgrades stop here. The installer never uninstalls Duskcone or clears its data.
Prepare game storage
After installing Duskcone, launch it here to create its game storage. The installer checks USB access, then closes the game.
The installer reads Duskcone’s Data Folder setting and checks USB access to that folder before transferring. If you change the folder in Duskcone, restart the game, then refresh storage here. The installer does not change your Data Folder setting.
Bring your game
Complete the storage step above to select files. Need help making your own dump? See Dolphin’s game-ripping guide .
Texture replacements (optional)
Review your transfer
Destination files
Duskcone closes for the transfer. Disc images are checksum-verified; texture folders are transferred as provided. After transferring your disc, continue to Launch on Quest when you're ready. Cancelling keeps completed files; select the same files again to review and retry.
Launch on Quest
Launch Duskcone here or from Apps → Unknown Sources in your headset. It will use the disc path saved during transfer.
Save Manager
Sync, upload, or download saves between your PC and Quest. Save Manager keeps both games open. Let any active save finish, then avoid saving on either device while the operation runs.
Sync with your PC folder
Choose the Dusklight data folder you use on your PC. Sync runs only when you press the button, copying progress in either direction. Deletions are not copied. If both versions changed, the newer save becomes active on both devices. The older version is kept as a timestamped .bak on your PC and Quest.
Choose a PC data folder to enable manual sync.
Folder sync needs File System Access. Use desktop Chrome or Edge, or enable that feature in Brave. You can still upload and download saves below.
The .bak file is ignored by the game. To use it, rename it to the active save filename on your PC, then sync again.
Upload saves without folder access
A full backup includes the disc image, textures, saves, settings, and other files in Duskcone’s data folder. Save it before uninstalling; it may be large. If your browser cannot save directly to a file, use the manual ADB backup below.
Downloads contain the save folder structure in a .tar archive. Extract it, then copy its contents into your computer’s chosen Dusklight data folder. Neither operation deletes files from the source.
Help
Quest asks for permission to install the APK
Follow the system prompt to allow the Files app to install unknown apps, then return to the APK in Files to finish installation. Open Duskcone from Apps → Unknown Sources.
Quest does not appear, or authorization is pending
Check developer mode, keep the headset awake, and try a data-capable USB cable and another port. Put on Quest and accept USB debugging. If you dismissed the browser chooser, click Connect again. If authorization times out, reconnect and look inside the headset.
The USB interface is busy
Close other device managers and tabs connected to your Quest. If desktop ADB is running, use adb kill-server in your terminal. Reconnect the cable and retry. On Windows, follow Meta’s USB driver setup instructions; Windows interface ownership still needs separate testing.
Storage, transfer, or install error
Keep the cable connected and make space in the headset if needed. A cancelled transfer leaves no valid partial disc image. Re-select the same files, review any completed-file conflicts, and retry. A signature mismatch needs an APK from the same signing key; do not uninstall to work around it. If a newer Duskcone version is installed, keep it.
Manual installation and backup
Download the APK from /apk and use the Android platform tools (replace the filename below with your download):
adb install -r duskcone.apk
adb shell am start -n dev.duskcone.dusk/dev.duskcone.dusk.DuskActivityOpen Duskcone once before managing files. If you chose a custom Data Folder, inspect its setting at:
adb shell cat /sdcard/Android/data/dev.duskcone.dusk/files/data_location.jsonFor a default managed folder, make a local copy before uninstalling:
adb pull /sdcard/Android/data/dev.duskcone.dusk/files ./duskcone-backupIf you chose another Data Folder, back up the location shown inside Duskcone instead. The browser will not rewrite that setting.
Disc formats and NFS folders
The game supports ISO/GCM, RVZ, WIA, WBFS, CISO, GCZ, TGC and NFS. This browser transfers single-file images. For NFS, keep all hif_*.nfs segments and the htk.bin key together and select the image inside Duskcone. Split images also need their companion files. Use a single-file dump with this installer.
What stays in this browser?
This browser remembers a local ADB authentication key. For folder sync, it remembers your chosen PC folder handle plus save hashes and timestamps per headset. One-time uploads are selected afresh. It also keeps a temporary copy of the published APK. Game files, textures, saves, device details, and backups never go to a server. No analytics, remote error reporting, or service worker runs here. Disconnect when you’re finished.
